Q: So the reception is at 10:30 and the reception isn’t until 5:00? What should I do with all of that free time?

A: Great question! We’ve left plenty of time so you can recharge, explore, or gear up for a long night of dancing. Here are some of our favorite options — whether you want a chill hour, a little adventure, or a chance to catch a game

🛋️ Option 1: Relax & Recharge

Sometimes the best way to prepare for a night of dancing is… not doing much at all.

Head back to your hotel or home

Kick off your shoes

Eat a sandwich

Take a nap

Watch a little football

Preserve your energy for the dance floor later

You have full permission to embrace this. ❤️

🏈 Option 2: Game Day Mode — It Is a Fall Saturday

If you're itching to catch your favorite team, here are great spots with plenty of screens, good food, and the right vibe:

Let It Fly Sports Bar

📍 1080 Capitol Ave, Omaha, NE 68102

A huge, modern sports bar — the perfect game-day hangout.

DJ's Dug Out

📍1003 Capitol Ave, Omaha, NE 68102

Local sports-bar chain serving pub grub & American food in a contemporary space with multiple TVs.

Leftys

📍1310 Mike Fahey St

Casual Irish pub with a sportsman's attitude featuring darts and beer.

🎳 Option 3: Fun & Games

Want to spend the afternoon doing something lighthearted and social?

The Fat Putter (Indoor Mini Golf)

📍 111 N 10th St, Omaha, NE 68102

Indoor mini golf, cool decor, drinks, food — total vibe.

🍹 Option 4: Drinks, Snacks & Vibes

For those who want a leisurely afternoon with cocktails, snacks, and great ambiance, here are some of Bridget and Brendan's favorite date spots:

Mercury

📍 329 S 16th St, Omaha, NE 68102

Craft cocktails + cozy mid-century style.

Cumbia

📍 329 S 16th St (Suite 1), Omaha, NE 68102

Latin-inspired tapas and cocktails — relaxed, delicious, perfect for grazing.

The Farnam Hotel Lounge & Bar

📍 1299 Farnam St, Omaha, NE 68102

Steps from the reception venue. Great drinks, great ambiance, great spot for a pre-party wind-up.

🎨 Option 5: Explore Omaha’s Arts & Culture

If you’re in the mood to stroll, wander, and enjoy local spots:

Durham Museum

📍 801 S 10th St, Omaha, NE 68108

A beautiful, grand former train station turned museum — history, architecture, and relaxed exhibits.

Old Market Historic District

📍 Downtown Omaha

Brick streets, local shops, art, bakeries, coffee, street musicians — an iconic Omaha afternoon walk.

📍 Travel Tips

Most spots listed are within a 5–8 minute drive of the reception venue.

Parking downtown is generally easy midday on weekends. Please be sure to download the Park Omaha App as meters do not accept cards or cash directly.

Hotels nearby often have shuttles or easy rideshare pickup.

Build in 15–20 minutes before the reception to freshen up and head over.

⭐ Pro Tip from the Bride & Groom

No matter what you choose — napping, mini-golfing, cocktail-sipping, or touchdown-celebrating — we’re just so excited to celebrate with you all evening long!

“Remember — it’s a marathon, not a sprint.”

We built in the bigger gap between ceremony and reception on purpose — so you, our guests, have time to rest, recharge, or wander and explore. Use it! Take that power-nap, grab a snack, catch part of a game, or enjoy a stroll with friends. Save your energy — because we want you all night long on the dance floor! 💃🕺
